As innovation disrupts industries from consumer product to financial services to healthcare, the IT knowledge workers are in high demand.According to a special report published by LinkedIn, Top Companies on LinkedIn had more than 240,000 positions open with roles ranging from “production finance associate at Netflix to a machine learning expert at Deloitte.”
Top companies that surveyed respondents want to work at are platform companies: Alphabet (parent to Google), Facebook, Netflix; or hybrid (a combination of platform, marketplaces and linear supply-chain) companies such as Uber, Apple. Computer software, SaaS and IaaS giants are evolving models to accommodate platform structures and anew generation of knowledge workers.
“The skills challenge becomes clearer, but so do differences between executives and their millennial workforces,” suggests Punit Renjen in a recent report by Deloitte Insights “[…] Over the past year leaders generally seem to better recognize the many dimensions—and ensuing challenges—of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Our hope is this clarity will now give rise to progress.”
