Lack of sleep can, in fact, affect your immune system. Studies have shown that people who aren't getting quality sleep or enough sleep are more likely to get sick after being exposed to a virus. It can also affect how fast you recover from sickness. Therefore, employees may be using up their sick days quicker than they would like.
The less sleep you get, the slower you begin to get at doing tasks. A "foggy brain" from sleep can also make it much harder to be creative during work.
Getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night is recommended. Some other tips include: going to bed at the same time each night, practice a bedtime routine, avoid caffeine late in the day, and exercise daily.
