5 Resources for Your Career
The iPad our recruiter, Sarah Feddersen, is holding is a nice way to browse our recommended virtual resources for your career. Some of these you'll know; others may be new. All are online and worthy of your review (on whatever hardware you use):
The Ladders.com
You can find career tips and articles anywhere, but some of the best are found at The Ladders.com. The Ladders.com connects you to jobs that pay $100,000 or more. Whether you qualify for a job that pays $100K or not, create a profile on the Ladders website and opt-in to receive their email newsletter and alerts.
iResume

We asked some of our HR contacts about this bad habit and they asked us why we were still dealing with resumes? Had we not heard of LinkedIn? "Just cut and paste," they said. Of course that's an exaggeration, but hardly a stretch. Our HR friends reminded us that LinkedIn (and other social media) continues to increase its influence on the job search. The Paragon Update
Our recruiters are excellent resources for career and job market information, so we put a camera in front of them and posed some questions. Here's a compilation of their thoughts and insight on:
1. A couple of quick motivators that start their day.
2. Some pointers on making your resume or LinkedIn profile stand out (i.e., how they read a resume or LinkedIn profile).
3. The Des Moines IT labor/job market to date.
4. One good time management tactic.
5. What they spend their paycheck on.
